There

She came in a dream,

A welcome moon beam,

To light up the night—

She was there.

At first so unable,

To tell truth from fable,

I knew soon enough—

She was there.

The tone of her skin,

The way she leaned in,

I reached out for her—

She was there.

I awoke in a sweat,

So filled with regret,

She is gone but I know—

She was there.

All day in a daze,

Recalling her face,

Heartbroken, I wept—

She was there.

With all of my soul,

I wish to grab hold,

Of that moment I had—

She was there.

Dreaming of sleep,

Sleeping to dream,

Please come back, my love:

I’ll be there.
